You might as well experience everything else Georgetown has to offer while in town! Below are public events/activities, hosted by our community, taking place during the exciting Festival of the Horse weekend.

Seed to Feed | Royal Spring Park | Friday, September 6

Satisfy the foodie within at Georgetown’s Annual Seed to Feed Dinner Series. Enjoy a special dinner At Royal Spring Park prepared by Chef Justin Thompson of Local Feed, accompanied by Jonathan Sanning of The Stave in Frankfort, KY. This is an all-inclusive event, passed hors d’oeuvres with cocktail hour, open bar and coursed dinner beginning at 6pm. Tickets must be purchased prior to event here.

 

Red Shield 5K| Charles Brooking Park | Saturday, September 7

The Salvation Army of Georgetown is hosting its 19th annual Red Shield 5k for Kids! The event will take place on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at Charles Brooking Park in Georgetown, Kentucky. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the race will begin at 9:00 a.m. Entry fee is $25 for adult/teen individual runners, $15 for children 12 and under, and $20 for group (4 or more) runners. Movies in the Park featuring Spirit| Royal Spring Park | Saturday, September 7

Join Georgetown-Scott County Parks and Recreation for a free showing of the horse-centric movie, Spirit, at Royal Spring Park. The movie begins at dark and in conjunction with Festival of the Horse. Movies in the Park is a summer program series that runs May – September, and takes place at different GSC Parks. This is a free, monthly event for the community, designed to make the program financially accessible to all citizens.

 

Paws in the Pool| Suffoletta Family Aquatic Center | Sunday, September 8

Now that human swimming season is over, dog swimming is just beginning! Paws in the Pool is a pool party for your pooch! Go to the Festival of the Horse Pet Parade on Sunday, Sept. 8 and then join Georgetown-Scott County Parks & Recreation at Suffoletta Family Aquatic Center. $10 per dog. 2-4pm for dogs under 40 lbs and 4:15-6:15pm for dogs 40 lbs and up! This event is proudly sponsored by Central KY Veterinary Center and Georgetown-Scott County Parks & Recreation.
